On February 23, 2011 Toronto City Council placed a moratorium on the Drain Grant Program effective March 1, 2011.
The purpose of the moratorium is for the Public Works and Infrastructure Committee to consider a Drain Grant Program for 2012; however Council reserves the right to completely cancel or re-start the program at any time in 2012. If it is to re-start in 2012 we do not know what the start date will be or if there will be changes to the terms and conditions of the program.
Under the current moratorium, drain work done up to and including February 28, 2011 that meets all of the program's terms and conditions will be eligible to apply for a grant. No work done after February 28, 2011 will be eligible for consideration.
Residents who have had drain work done on or before February 28, 2011 have one year to submit their application. For example, if a resident had work completed on September 2, 2010, they have until September 1, 2011 to submit their drain grant application.

It's nice to have City green, full of trees and gardens. But sometimes it brings homeowners problem with sewer lines.
Roots are breaking into the system and they start grow inside. Pipes will be blocked very soon by roots. What happens if you don't realize that roots are in the system?
You will need to replace the pipe and take the roots out. If you live in Toronto, as a client of the green program, the city provides Grant as a thank to you to keep our City green and fresh day by day.
Our company is City Tree Root Rebate approved contractors. Here is a link to the

AnTa Plumbing deals with the City of Toronto to help our customers receive up to $2000 from the City in rebates for drain replacement or repairs.
Basement Flooding Subsidy Program
Basements can flood for many reasons. For its part, the City of Toronto is working to make improvements to its complex system of underground pipes, sewers and catch basins. But these improvements alone cannot completely protect a home from basement flooding. Those who isolate their home from the City's sewer system can significantly reduce the risk of basement flooding. To assist homeowners, the City offers owners of single-family, duplex and triplex residential homes a financial subsidy of up to $3,200. Call for details.
